Meaning Carried Forward

Meaning Carried Forward

The Next Four Tokens

The first set of Ember & Etch meaning tokens started with four simple words:

Gratitude.
Harmony.
Joy.
Resilience.

They were created as small reminders tucked into orders, market bags, and moments shared between us and the people supporting this journey.

What started as a small addition quickly became something more.

People held onto them.
Passed them along.
Connected with them.

And now, with the first series almost completely gone after our first few markets, it felt right to continue the story forward.

Not by repeating the first collection.
But by evolving it.

Because at Ember & Etch, once a collection is gone… it’s gone.

That’s part of the meaning behind everything we create.

Nothing is mass-produced endlessly.
Nothing is meant to feel disposable.

Each season, collection, scent, and token represents a moment in time.

And this next series feels like the next chapter.

The Second Token Collection

The next four words are:

Radiance
Stillness
Legacy
Harbor

Each one was chosen intentionally.

Not just because they sound beautiful together — but because they reflect where Ember & Etch is now becoming.

Radiance

Radiance represents warmth returning after difficult seasons.

Not loudness.
Not perfection.

Just the quiet return of light.

This token reflects growth, healing, rebuilding, and continuing forward even after life changes you.

In many ways, Radiance feels deeply connected to the story that shaped Ember & Etch itself.

Stillness

Stillness represents the moments we often forget to make space for.

The quiet mornings.
The slowed evenings.
The pause between everything else.

Our candles, wood pieces, and collections have always been about atmosphere — creating spaces that feel grounded and lived in.

Stillness became the word that captured that feeling best.

Legacy

Legacy may be the most personal token in this collection.

Legacy is about what remains:
the memories we create, the people we gather with, the traditions we pass down, and the things made with intention.

A candle eventually burns out.

But memories attached to moments often stay much longer.

That meaning sits at the heart of Ember & Etch.

Harbor

Harbor represents comfort.
Return.
A place to land.

Inspired partly by our coastal surroundings and the slower feeling that comes with them, Harbor became a reminder that not every season in life needs movement.

Some seasons are meant for grounding.

For gathering.

For simply being home.

Why We Don’t Repeat Collections

One thing that makes Ember & Etch different is that many of our collections are intentionally limited.

When a seasonal collection ends, it ends.

When certain designs sell through, they may never return exactly the same way again.

The same is true for these tokens.

The first four words represented one chapter of the brand.
These next four represent another.

That’s what makes them meaningful.

They become tied to a memory:
a market day,
a gift,
a conversation,
a scent,
a season of life.

And maybe someday, years from now, someone will still find one tucked into a drawer or resting on a shelf and remember exactly where it came from.
