First Market Day on The Green: Exhausting, Exhilarating, and Exactly Where We Were Meant to Be

First Market Day on The Green: Exhausting, Exhilarating, and Exactly Where We Were Meant to Be

This past weekend, we officially brought Ember & Etch Studio to The Green in Historic New Castle… and what a day it was.

Honestly?

It was exhausting.
It was exhilarating.
And it was absolutely worth it.

A New Chapter on The Green

Setting up in Old New Castle for Market on the Green felt like more than just another vendor event.

For us, it was about showing people who Ember & Etch is now.

We weren’t just bringing products.

We were reintroducing ourselves.

For some, this was their first time discovering us. For others, it was reconnecting with familiar faces who knew us before and got to experience our new vibe, our expanded vision, and everything Ember & Etch is becoming.

And that part meant a lot.

The Feedback We Needed to Hear

Throughout the day, we heard the kind of feedback every small business hopes for:

Beautiful.
Artistic.
Amazing craftsmanship.
You absolutely belong here.

At a curated artisan market in Historic New Castle — where handmade truly matters — hearing that validation hit differently.

This wasn’t just about selling.

It was about knowing the work, the heart, and the creativity behind Ember & Etch were seen.

And after everything it took to get here… that matters.

More Than Sales — We Built Connections

Yes, we made sales. Yes, we learned what customers are loving.

But one of the biggest wins from the day?

We made new connections.

We also had the chance to reconnect with previous connections under this new chapter — showing how far we’ve come and where we’re headed.

And one incredibly exciting moment?

We met Delaware content creator Katie L, who gave Ember & Etch a shoutout on her page.

Follow her to stay informed on what going on in the state. First State Kate https://www.tiktok.com/@thespilledtee

That kind of support matters, because it helps more people across Delaware discover what we’re building.

And for a growing handmade business? That ripple effect is huge.

A Personal Win, Too

This day was a reminder of something bigger for me personally.

Since my comeback from cancer, I haven’t exactly been used to days this physically demanding.

And I’m not going to pretend it was easy.

By the end of it?

I was tired. Really tired.

But underneath that exhaustion was something even stronger:

Gratitude.

Because being able to show up, do the work, meet the people, hear the feedback, and build something beautiful after such a hard season… that feeling is hard to put into words.

It reminded me that healing, rebuilding, and creating can all exist together.

We’re Building on This

This first market gave us exactly what we needed:

Validation

Momentum

New relationships

Renewed confidence

And we fully plan to build on every bit of it as the season continues.

This is just the beginning.

Next Stop: Back to Historic New Castle

We’re excited to officially say:

Join us Saturday, May 16th, 2026

America’s oldest private home and garden tour

We’ll be back on The Green, ready to keep growing, keep connecting, and keep sharing Ember & Etch with this incredible community.

Final Thought

This weekend reminded us that Ember & Etch is about so much more than candles, boards, or products.

It’s about connection. It’s about creativity. It’s about comeback.

To everyone who stopped by, supported us, shared kind words, or helped spread the word — thank you.

You helped make our first day on The Green something we’ll never forget.

And we’re just getting started.

See you on The Green.
